A Legacy of Service Since 1948
Plumbers Wholesale Supply has been proudly family-owned and operated for more than 75 years. Founded in 1948 by George Cummans and L.O. Trout, the business opened its doors at 2311 Forrest Avenue in Gadsden, Alabama — and quickly became a trusted name in plumbing supplies.
George and his wife Ellen raised their two children, Dave and Ginger, in Gadsden, and both eventually joined the family business. After graduating from the University of Alabama, Dave returned home in the mid-1970s to help lead operations. Around the same time, Ginger’s husband, Alan Ross, came on board in 1976.
As Gadsden grew, so did Plumbers Wholesale. In the late 1970s, the company expanded to a larger facility at 2100 Forrest Avenue, adding warehouse space, upgrading counter sales, and launching its first plumbing fixture showroom.
Today, more than four decades later, Dave, Alan, and Dave’s son Cole continue the family tradition. Together, they lead a team known for expert service, deep product knowledge, and a commitment to quality that spans generations. For over 75 years, Plumbers Wholesale Supply has been more than just a business — it’s been a cornerstone of Gadsden and a trusted resource across northeast Alabama.
